"ACCESS CONNECTICUT " is dedicated to passing legislation allowing adult adoptees born in CT to regain the right of access to their original birth certificates.  In CT the OBC is sealed after the adoption is legally finalized and an "amended" or adoptive certificate is substituted.  Since 1974 the adult adoptee has been denied access to the OBC by law.  Members of ACCESS CT believe that CT adoptees are being denied the human right that all other people who were born in CT have  --  to go to the vital records office and get a copy of their original birth certificate.  It is their history,  it is their origin and  they have the human right to that information.
